Please describe a bit more the problem.
Also, give a try to last stable LO version 6.3.5
Comment 2 lombardidiego 2020-03-07 15:27:16 UTC
In version 5.1.6.2 the distance between the lines of the "line spacing 1.5" setting is greater than that of version 6 (so also in the last stable version). The correct real distance between lines of the "1.5 line spacing" setting is that of version 5.1.6.2. Why was it reduced in the next version (version 6)? I realized it because working on my degree thesis, if I view a document with version 5, it is made up of a greater number of pages than the version 6 view.

Thank you for your feedback. Let's put back this back to UNCONFIRMED since I don't have more questions for the moment.

Xisco/Heiko: Could it be a rendering pb or some on purpose change on UI?

6.3 vs. 5.2

No difference in line spacing
Comment 5 Heiko Tietze 2020-03-09 11:04:23 UTC
Please share a screen shot and ideally documents for comparison. My oldest version is 5.2 and it has no difference in line spacing to the current release. Please also keep in mind to use the same font.

When I set line spacing to 1.5 the result doesn't look like single. So no idea what happens with your document. Maybe you can share it.
Comment 11 lombardidiego 2020-03-10 08:38:35 UTC
This does not only happen with this document that I share, but also with others. I share with you two documents, with which the same thing happens. One is in doc format and the other is in odt format.

Comment 14 lombardidiego 2020-03-10 08:57:19 UTC
By the way, I tell you two things that can be important. I use ubuntu as an operating system. As for the space between the lines, also for me in version 6.4 the result of the value 1.5 does not look like the single. Simply the value of 1.5 of version 6.4 is not the same as version 5.1 (which is the correct one), but less. In fact, my faculty does not accept it as a regular value in typographical indications.
Comment 15 Heiko Tietze 2020-03-10 09:03:17 UTC
No need for Word documents, odt is fine. Thanks for sharing.

It opens with 1.5 line spacing on my system (6.3, Linux). Last sentence on page 1 is "della predicazione del regno di Dio." (I don't have Nimbus on my system and it's substituted by Noto).

You apply direct formatting to all paragraphs and all headings! Please consider to use paragraph styles in particular for a lengthy text as you do.
Comment 16 lombardidiego 2020-03-10 09:42:34 UTC
I think I understand. Now I have to learn the use of paragraph styles. If there are other problems I will contact you (this could happen in a long time).
Thank you for the promptness of your answers, for your professionalism and precision.
I inform you that I really appreciate the libreoffice project.

I can't see a difference between LO 4.4.7.2 and Lo 6.3.5.2
