When a user sets background color for a character, it can't be released (transparent) from the sidebar. The user can set the transparency by clicking the Unformat button on the top toolbar or the highlight color setting icon. --- Writer 6.2.6
Thank you for reporting the bug. it seems you're using an old version of LibreOffice. Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
Ah, this bug is about setting the various color properties to Automatic on the sidebar. I can confirm with CODE 4.2, but it seems to work in a master/master build. I'm closing the bug report here, but it's going to be followed up on wrt CODE. Thanks for reporting!
