Open a writer document. 1. Type alt+k to enter the degrees sign, then type space. No space appears unless you type space twice. 2. Type alt+k, then use the mouse to select another place in the same line, and type. The cursor shows at the new location, but the text appears immediately after the degrees sign. 3. Type alt+k, then use the mouse to select another place in the same line, and delete. The cursor shows at the new location, but the degrees sign gets deleted. 4. Type alt+k, then select someplace in another paragraph. Then the cursor move seems to work alright. Using LibreOffice 6.2.7.1 NBC. Cannot test on standard due to blinking cursor.
Could you give a try to last stable LO version 6.3.5 and if it doesn't work give a try to 6.4.1?
No, I can't. I have to use NBC due to the blinking cursors. See bug 100706

I'm getting this bug with ABC-Extended keyboard for MacOS, not when using U.S. keyboard.
I don't think this is a bug. The ABC extended layout is meant to be used to type more accented characters. E.g., when you then press alt+k it's waiting on the next character to write e.g., the Scandinavian å You need to press space to dismiss that and only get the degree sign. This is standard behavior on macOS and happens with e.g., the grave character as well You can now also try to upgrade to the latest version (6.4.3) as bug 100706 has been fixed!
