Created attachment 158998 [details] Document to test blur effect from option "filter" in "3D Effects" dialog The 3D Effects dialog has an option "Filter" in the register "Textures". It should enable a blur effect for the filling. That had worked till OOo2.4.3 and is broken at least since OOo3.2.1. Open attached file, select the cube and look at it with huge zoom. Set the filter on, apply, set the filter off, apply. Notice, that nothing changes. The attached image shows a screenshot of the expected blur result, taken from OOo2.4.3. I'm not sure what to do. There are no bug reports so far, not here and not in Apache Bugzilla. No one seems to miss the feature, which would speak for removing it totally. On the other hand the corresponding attribute dr3d:texture-filter belongs to ODF. Perhaps hide it from the UI and add a comment to the class TexturePrimitive3D until it is fixed? I do not expect a quick fix, other areas are more important.

I see "Textures" tab in 3D dialogs and Filtering button but where's "blur" effect?
(In reply to Julien Nabet from comment #2) > I see "Textures" tab in 3D dialogs and Filtering button but where's "blur" > effect? The button "Filter" should enable blur of the texture. If the button is pressed, the texture should be "softened". If the button is not pressed, the original texture should be used. "Blur" is a filter in image processing, often implemented as "Gaussian blur". I have used the word "effect" because pressing the button does not change the texture itself, but only the rendering. The bug is about the fact, that it does not work. You need an old OpenOffice.org version to see, how it should work.
Thank you for your feedback. So the bug can be reproduced with first LO 3.3 and considering https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenOffice.org, it seems you need OpenOffice from 2008/2009. So the bug appeared between 2008 and 2010, is that it?

I have got OOo2.4.3. That is from Aug 2009. And I have got OOo3.2.1. That is from May 2010. It works in OOo2.4.3 and is broken in OOo3.2.1.
Dear Regina Henschel, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Warm Regards, QA Team MassPing-UntouchedBug
