Description William Gathoye 2020-03-27 14:34:30 UTC
Description:
Write down some data in a spreadsheet on calc.

Go in Export... > .png.

When increasing the number of pixels, the size of the document is reduced, and the png we obtain are of the same pixels.

1123x794 pixels in A4
1588x1123 in A3

If we try to increase the size in cm as we increase the number of ppp, there is a blank space added.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go in Export...
2. Choose an image format
3. Increase ppp
4. Increase document size in cm

Actual Results:
Blank is added around

Expected Results:
The document is taking the size of page size we defined.

Reproducible: Always

I can confirm the wrong scaling. A higher dpi-setting on same width/height adds whitespace.

I see the error in Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: 6388c578c672690fff662cb04b6a0436cd742f37
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18362; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: de-DE (en_US); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

and in Version: 6.1.4.2 (x64)
Build ID: 9d0f32d1f0b509096fd65e0d4bec26ddd1938fd3
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default;
Locale: de-DE (en_US); Calc: CL

and in Version: 5.4.7.2 (x64)
Build ID: c838ef25c16710f8838b1faec480ebba495259d0
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 6.19; UI render: default;
Locale: de-DE (en_US); Calc: CL

Version 4.0.1.2 (Build ID: 84102822e3d61eb989ddd325abf1ac077904985) does not have this feature. So likely no regression but implementation error.

If you specify a PNG export size larger than that proposed, white is added. The teableau is not bigger.
If you specify a smaller PNG export size, the whole table does not appear.

Dear William Gathoye,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!
