@Regina
Abusing the bug tracker a bit for question/bug related 3D effect Window/update button. What does it do? Pressing it twice resets the settings.. but I can't find any documentation

No, "update" cannot be removed.

The button is needed to transport settings from one 3D-Scene to another, for example. Brush or styles do no work for 3D-settings.

How it works:
If the button is pressed (default) and you click on a 3D-shape, the dialog is filled with the settings of that shape. That is needed, because the apply-button applies _all_ settings of the dialog, not only the changed ones.

When you leave the shape and the button is pressed, the dialog is filled with defaults.

To copy all settings from one 3D-Scene to another: In the source 3D-Scene unpress the button. That keeps the source settings in the dialog. Go to the target 3D-Scene, still button unpressed. Click on Apply then in the target 3D-Scene. After that you should press the button for to restore the default behavior.

@Regina, should we turn this issue into a Documentation issue ?

Yes, that is a good idea.

Missing parts are:
Explanation for the buttons:
"Apply"
"Update"
"Perspective on/off"
"Convert to 3D" (Extrusion)
"Convert to 3D rotation object"

Entry for "3D Effects" in the help index.

"Help" button on the dialog itself.

The explanations for the buttons had been on the "Favorites" page in OOo1.1.5. That was text/common/01/05350100. It seems that with removing the "Favorites" the help page was removed too, but without making a new place for these buttons.

These buttons are available on each of the tabs of the "3D Effects"-dialog. The "3D Effects"-dialog itself has /text/shared/01/05350000 and in addition (why?) in /text/simpress/02/10130000
