Description pat 2020-04-02 12:53:43 UTC
Description:
Hi.

I line number a document.

I want a vertical border between line numbering and my document body content.

The modified style with a border setup seems not apply (see below steps to reproduce)

Nothing appears.

The alternative way seems to apply a left border to document body content (paragraph...).

Not sure it is a bug, but seems dysfunction.

Can you confirm?

Thanks.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. menu "tools"/ "line numbering" : to line number the document
2. style dialog (F11), "characters styles") "line numbering", "modify",
3. I set up a line border (width, color...), and apply. -> nothings appears

Actual Results:
Style do not apply

Expected Results:
A style modification applyed

Reproducible: Always

I confirm that behaviour with

Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: 1c9ced04189c9d23ffea05d5570960b54b05ef28
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win;
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI-Language: en-GB
Calc: CL

Same result with
- Highlight color

It works with
- strikethrough
- underlining
- bold
- italic

So more general: Some settings of a character style are missing, if style is used for line numbering (I changed bug summary)

Still the same issue with a recent master build:

Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 17a4f4d5e4d49189b43e748271d2d4fa330eef9b
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Highlighting and borders of a character style are not picked up by line numbering.

Dear pat,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword
