Description lopezmbox 2020-04-16 23:22:21 UTC
Description:
I would like to request a distraction-free view for Writer. Personally, I would love it if the whole Dark Room application became a “Dark Room View.”

For those unaware, Dark Room, a WriteRoom clone, is a full screen word processor that allows you to set the level of opacity of the application. Not exactly revolutionary, this feature does make for a distraction-free and pleasant writing experience (when you have the right desktop background).

Below is the link to the website where you can download the nearly 50 KB whopping Dark Room. No installation necessary, just unzip the file. Then prepare to be astonished by its glorious transparency as you begin to type on your very own desktop wallpaper! So much reward for so little effort.

Prefer Notepad++ or gvim, never been an emacs fan. And OSX keyboard shortcuts of Dark Room are not my favorites.

Anyhow, see no advantage to the suggested writing mode compared to LibreOffice Writer's current Full screen (<Ctrl>+<Shift>+j)

With needed work done to provide a text only view while handling fit margin widths and page spacing--as for bug 37817, bug 126868, bug 127801, and bug 130023

IMHO => WF for implementing the app, and otherwise a functional duplicate of bug 37817
