Description: Cells with numbers should be right aligned and indent increase should add space to right. This works randomly in inconsistent matter and once occur can not be fixed in any way. Only option is to remove indents from all rows or start creating the table from empty new document, just to eventually end up to same problem. Steps to Reproduce: 1.numbers in cells 2. align right several rows and columns 3. increase indent Actual Results: Indent of only part of the cells is increased. This is random and can not be fixed with any retrial or paste unformated values to cleared area. Expected Results: Cells with numbers should be right aligned and indent increase should add space to right. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 6.4.2.2 Build ID: 1:6.4.2-0ubuntu3 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; Locale: fi-FI (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded This problem is old and have been in place in several earlier libre-office versions. This formatting option is really important for creating readable tables. Similar problem occur in MS excel sometimes but there it is consistent to entire selection area and clearing the formats and reformat always solves the problem. I have relatively clean new installation of OS and libre office package included to os -> resetting the user profile is not relevant. I have default settings of my distro -> don't know anything about OpenGL choice made. I will add document I was working with while my personal bug-reporting threshold was finally exceeded. (copy-paste inconsistency bug I reported is a showstopper for me)
Created attachment 159676 [details] document I was working with while problem occur Right align and indent applied in document with inconsistent outcome.
I do not see a problem if I first remove all manual formatting and then increase indent. Best regards. JBF
It will not work for me. Same bug also with another pc and with several different files created separately: Version: 6.3.5.2 Build ID: 1:6.3.5-0ubuntu0.19.10.1 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.3; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; Locale: fi-FI (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded
Trying to figure out what we need to test here exactly. I selected the contents in columns P-S and cleared direct formatting. Then I increased the indent a single step and it worked for all the cells. Heikki: do you get a different result than me?

Hello problem still there with version 7.0.3.1 If I remove all the direct formatting I lose all the formatting that I naturally need to have in the table. And when I re-do the formats the problem is back. This inability to indent number cells in tables makes calc useless for presentation with bordered columns as table column borders need to have space to numbers. This kind of basic use case should not be that difficult to recognize. I am sorry I can not help any further.

I think this might be related to bug 107233 bug 107213 I confirm that if I set the alignment to right in columns P-S after clearing formatting, the result for increasing indent is inconsistent. Arch Linux 64-bit Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 52c77ce5da7e583ea0a70d5de32de6b0a12790a2 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.9; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Built on 22 December 2020
Dear Heikki Moisander, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! I tested this old bug with Version: 7.5.3.2 (X86_64) Build ID: 50(Build:2) CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.2; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Now the indentation seems to work like expected. It was not 100% consistent all teh time. During the testing there were one moment when indentation change affected also next cell on right that was not selected, but after some re-formating actions desired formatting was reached. At the time I reported about this it was impossible to use indentation for right aligned cells - now I am happy to notice it works.
