Text with a different orientation (e.g. 45°) is not exported as text in PDFs (can't select it). Steps to reproduce: * open Calc * type "hello1" in one cell * type "hello2" in one cell, then change text orientation by setting 45 degrees in Format->Alignment->Text Orientation->Degrees * export it as PDF * open exported file and CTRL-a to select all text * you can notice only "hello1" word is selected I am on Arch Linux x86_64 and using latest LO Version: 6.4.3.2 Build ID: 6.4.3-1 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.5; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; Locale: it-IT (en_GB.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-GB Calc: threaded
I do reproduce it in Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID: 86bc13248c1d9f63b10aac304bdf0361d1dcc47f CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded the question is, is rotated text selectable in PDF files? could you please provide a sample that works ?
You are right, so I created an example file (attached below). I tried with different PDF viewer and it looks like browser PDF viewers are able to select that text. I think we can close this issue as NOTABUG
