Description Mark 2020-05-06 02:44:31 UTC
Description:
Adding more than about 5 filters (more or less depending on complexity of query) causes the file to crash.

Either
1/ Create a control to limit the amount of filters a user can have in a given situation, with a warning and prevention system

or 2/
Adjust memory usage to allow unlimited filters.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Tab with over 2000 lines, 38 columns
2. Multiple filers (more than 5, with varying complexity of query)

Actual Results:
At first the filter operates slowly with a blue circle, then as more memory is required it simply crashes and Calc disappears altogether.

Expected Results:
s more memory is required it simply crashes and Calc disappears altogether.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
It should have either warned me this was too complex for my environment or it should have performed the filter operation.

At first glance resetting USer Profile seems to have worked, but Im this far through the report and will finish it anyway, because doing this corrupted the user profile somehow and it would be good for it to be fixed so people dont have to go through this and be forced to operate in Safe Mode.

Thanks for the report. A crash shouldn't happen. Is it possible to share/ attach an example file illustrating the issue. The file will be public.
Reproducing the issue from scratch based on the general description is rather hard.

Thanks for the reply.. All the data is private and not suitable for public display.

I would have to do something to neutralise all the data and will do this as time permits, but if you have a simple way of generating sheets with 38 headers and 2000+ rows of random formatted data in one tab containing dates, formulas and numbers go ahead.

If not then when I can I will send you something thats publically visible

Actually I just tried to open it in safe mode and it wont even open the file, file and application both crash, yesterday it was fine.

This still hasnt been dealt with in six months, and no Im not providing confidential data.

It still crashes all the time if it has multiple filters running
