On Windows 7 32 bits, with LibreOffice 6.4.3.2 fr:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a .odf or .docx file

Actual Results:
The menus content text is invisible (see screenshot).
The about dialog and printing windows are empty too.

Expected Results:
Text visible.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Reproduced with OpenGL disabled.

Workaround: disabling "Check grammar as you type" in Tools/Options/+Language Settings/Writing Aids (see bug 107166 comment 214) (spell checking still works here).

Disabling grammar check as you type (fr)

Grammar check as you type disabled is a workaround.

You might try a parallel install of LO 7.0.0 alpha release [1]. It likely won't be Skia Vulkan enabled--so Skia Raster--for that GPU/driver pairing--but should be better than the OpenGL rendering.

Otherwise--simply disable OpenGL rendering from the Tools -> Options -> View panel, and work with defauult GDI (check the Hardware acceleration box).

The os, GPU, & driver set should probably have been OpenGL blacklisted.

I've tried disabling OpenGL rendering (both unchecking "Use OpenGL for all rendering" and safe mode) without any luck.

I'll try LO 7.0.0 alpha release in case it's fixed already.

OpenGL is indeed going away: https://www.collaboraoffice.com/success-story/implementing-vulkan-capable-libreoffice-user-interface-using-the-skia-library/

7.0 is now stable since a few weeks. How is it looking?
Comment 7 Thomas Bertels 2020-08-30 15:47:07 UTC
I can't reproduce it anymore either with 6.4.3 or with 7.0.
Comment 8 Thomas Bertels 2020-09-28 11:43:22 UTC
The user can still reproduce it with 7.0.

Hi Thomas

When you say "the user", is that you or someone else?

It would be great if you could test with a recent version: either the latest one for LibreOffice 7.0 (currently 7.0.6), or the more recent version 7.1, or even a daily development build available here: https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html

If you still see the bug, could you please give us the precise version and system information from the Help - About LibreOffice dialogue? There is a button to easily copy and paste it.

Thank you!

I don't use the third person for myself. :D

I rechecked it with 7.0.6 and it now works fine. I'll reopen if the user reproduces it.

With 7.1.5 actually.

Fabulous, thank you Thomas!
