Thanks for reporting the bug, Telesto.

I was able to replicate it in Windows using:

Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha1+ (x64)
Build ID: 0e5e935deb0527c64865cfcc53a0421e56b74b6f
CPU threads: 2; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 17763; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

It should be noted, though, that if the LibreOffice window isn't full-screen, the comment box remains the same size prior to deletion.

Don't think so. The solution is probably simple and a one-liner but it takes long (or much expertise) to find the right place in code.

/confirming with
Version: 6.3.6.2
Build ID: 6.3.6-1
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.6; UI render: default; VCL: kde5;
Locale: de-DE (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

I could reproduce it in version:
Version: 7.0.6.2
Build ID: 144abb84a525d8e30c9dbbefa69cbbf2d8d4ae3b
CPU threads: 12; OS: Mac OS X 10.15.7; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

But I could not reproduce it in version:
Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 5aac78e5fb241050a86714687e9ff8804588ae3c
CPU threads: 12; OS: Mac OS X 10.15.7; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded
