Description Derek James 2020-05-28 15:25:11 UTC
Description:
The components of LibreOffice 6.4.4.that I tried - certain Writer, Calc and Impress came up with the same error - "open by unknown user". I am the only user of my Linux desktop machine.
There were no ~lock files visible.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install the snap,
2.Open files - error pops up.
3.

Actual Results:
All seemed OK yesterday - nothing working today - I'd taken a flier by installing beyond the standard repos - so just backed it out again - 6.4.3 working fine.

Expected Results:
File open

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Too late to find any other info - workaround is uninstall the snap - reinstall the standard edition from the Ubuntu 20.04 repos.
glxinfo not installed - sorry there's only so much I'll do help diagnose.
Version no longer installed - so no "Help About" data - I downloaded the snap from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/

Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

Much simpler: go to Help - Restart in Safe Mode - Reset to Factory Settings.
Everything should be fine.

We are waiting fro an answer from you, please.

Sorry - I wanted to be able to work - so I backed out 6.4.4 (snap) and reverted to 6.4.3.2 - the version off the Ubuntu repositories - no problems. I'd taken a flier downloading 6.4.4 anyway. I'll now wait till the version on the repositories gets updated. I don't know if the two versions will co-exist on the machine - so I now have no way of replicating the fault. I'm afraid I don't have test resources.
I stated in my original bug report that I'd backed out the new 6.4.4 version. I had things to do.
