Description Henrik Gebauer 2020-06-02 11:10:45 UTC
Description:
I often used to press Ctrl+M to clear direct formatting. But after I upgraded from LibreOffice 6.2 to version 6.4 the keyboard shortcut is missing. I can't set a new shortcut in the "Customize" dialogue because "clear direct formatting" is not in the list (I tried the selection box as well as the search input box).

The toolbar button and the menu entries "clear direct formatting" are still there and working as expected. (as a workaround I can use the keyboard to access the menu entry)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. type some text an make it bold
2. select the text
3. press Ctrl+M
4. go to Menu - extras - customize
5. enter "direct" in the search input

Actual Results:
1-3: nothing happens
4-5: "clear direct formatting" is not found

Expected Results:
1-3: text is no longer bold
4-5: "clear direct formatting" is foumd

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Works for me in:

Version: 6.4.4.2
Build ID: 3d775be2011f3886db32dfd395a6a6d1ca2630ff
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.6; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Does the Format > Clear Direct Formatting menu item list the shortcut, and it just that it doesn't actually work, or the shortcut is missing also from the menu item?

The command is called there just "Clear", and it's under the Format category. (The issue with this short label is well known - see Bug 108458. There's some kind of workaround using a tooltip in recent builds, but so far no complete solution.)

Oh, okay. "Clear" is in the list and I could restore the keyboard shortcut. So it just went missing when I upgraded from 6.2 to 6.4 (so this is the actual bug) and has an unclear label. (Actually I'm using the German translation where it is even worse because "clear" is translated to "löschen" which could also mean "delete").

Thank you!

Perhaps some profile corruption, but we can't really determine it. Closing.
