Description berrykevin321@gmail.com 2020-06-09 23:43:25 UTC
Description:
In macOS Sierra 10.12.6, ⌘+F5 brings up VoiceOver. The Calc Guide says it brings up View > Sidebar. I discovered this while reviewing the 6.4 Calc Guide, on Page 12, in the Keyboard Shortcuts chapter.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Calc
2. ⌘+F5
3. You'll see a program called VoiceOver open.

Actual Results:
VoiceOver is now opened

Expected Results:
View > Sidebar

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Fresh install, default settings.

Unfortunately, macOS overrides any internal LibreOffice keyboard shortcuts so the Command+F5 key presses never get "seen" by the LibreOffice code.

A workaround is to disable the macOS VoiceOver keyboard shortcut using the following steps. Note: these steps are for macOS Sonoma so older versions of macOS may need different steps:

1. Launch the System Preferences application
2. Click on Keyboard in the sidebar on the left
3. Click the Keyboard Settings button in the panel on the right
4. In the dialog that appears, click on Accessibility in the sidebar on the left
5. Uncheck the "Turn VoiceOver on and off" checkbox
