Hello, I updated my win 10 pro 64 this morning to version 2004 (build 19041.329), I was on 1909, and I've noticed that my libreOffice writer install is not working anymore (it was working before the update, yesterday for instance no problems during 2 hours). Now after a few seconds or minutes, menus are going blank, I can click on menus and it works (but popup windows are also blank) until Writer eventually freezes a few seconds or minutes later. By freezing I mean you can click on the blank menus and it "works", you can exit the programm for instance by selecting the right invisible button on the blank pop up exit window but you can't modify you text anymore or click on the style side window. Calc also has the same issue. I had version 6.3.5 installed, I ve installed the last "business" one, 6.3.6 and both have blank menus and "freeze". Notice that after updating windows and reinstalling LibreOffice I have rebooted my PC. Regards, Freme
Some news : After removing LibreOffice version 6.3.6.2, rebooting and installing the last stable one, version 6.4.4.2, no improvment, same issue. But in version 6.4.4.2, after unchecking in options > LibreOffice > View > Use openGL for all rendering, ALL SEEMS OK after 1 hour of use whereas previously the issue came in less than 3 minutes. I don't remember what was the default option on my last working LO version, but I don't remember having to change some opengl related option to make it work. Regards, Freme
Could you check you got last graphic driver? (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps#Graphics-related_issues_.28OpenGL.29). You can also rename your LO profile (see same page) and give a new try.
So: 1) I've switched back to "Use openGL for all rendering" and the bug is back 2) I have a dell xps 15" 9570 with two graphic cards : a)intel UHD 630 with driver version 26.20.100.7262 more info here https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=051np&oscode=wt64a&productcode=xps-15-9570-laptop . The driver is the last one advised by the dell update utilityand on the dell site. Note that the device manager in windows 10 talks about intel uhd 630 also the intel control graphic panel, but the dell site talks about the intel uhd 620 ... Also I can't find any 26.20.100.7262 driver on the intel site ! b) nvidia geforce gtx 1050ti max-design with the last driver advised by nvidia I 've installed this morning after the bug appeared. I don't know which card is in use with libreoffice (maybe point 4) answers!) 3) I've renamed my profile, with opengl rendering on, the issue is still here. 4) My cache\opengl_device content : DriverVersion: 26.20.100.7262 DriverDate: 9-25-2019 DeviceID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3E9B&SUBSYS_087C1028&REV_00 AdapterVendorID: 0x8086 AdapterDeviceID: 0x3e9b AdapterSubsysID: 0x087c1028 DeviceKey: System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{4C67A0D4-AC8C-11EA-9A52-806E6F6E6963}\0000 DeviceString: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 5) back to my old profile and unckecking opengl for all rendering Thanks

(In reply to Freme from comment #3) > So: > > 1) I've switched back to "Use openGL for all rendering" and the bug is back Ok so openGL related > 2) I have a dell xps 15" 9570 with two graphic cards : > > a)intel UHD 630 with driver version 26.20.100.7262 more info here > https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/ > driversdetails?driverid=051np&oscode=wt64a&productcode=xps-15-9570-laptop . > The driver is the last one advised by the dell update utilityand on the dell > site. > Note that the device manager in windows 10 talks about intel uhd 630 also > the intel control graphic panel, but the dell site talks about the intel uhd > 620 ... > Also I can't find any 26.20.100.7262 driver on the intel site ! > > b) nvidia geforce gtx 1050ti max-design with the last driver advised by > nvidia I 've installed this morning after the bug appeared. > > I don't know which card is in use with libreoffice (maybe point 4) answers!) > LO uses Intel since cache\opengl_device indicates Intel. On the page you provided, there's a download link. > 3) I've renamed my profile, with opengl rendering on, the issue is still > here. It's expected since this driver doesn't seem blacklisted, LO will try to use OpenGL. > 4) My cache\opengl_device content : > ... > 5) back to my old profile and unckecking opengl for all rendering > ... I think you should try to update Dell applications then graphic card driver. Not related but it seems there's a Bios/UEFI update to do. Finally, could you please provide from Help/About all information from LO, eg: (In my case on pc Debian testing: Version : 6.4.4.2 Build ID : 1:6.4.4-1 Threads CPU : 12; OS : Linux 5.6; UI Render : par défaut; VCL: gtk3; Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); Langue IHM : fr-FR Calc: threaded)
1)"I think you should try to update Dell applications then graphic card driver. Not related but it seems there's a Bios/UEFI update to do." My dell update utility is up to date (v 3.1.2) and all my drivers were already up to date when I compare with the ones proposed by dell on their website. Of course there's a more recent intel driver but as the intel driver and support assistant says : "Installing this Intel generic graphics driver will overwrite any customized driver from your Computer Manufacturer (OEM). OEM drivers are handpicked, customized, and validated to resolve platform-specific issues, enable features and enhancements, and improve system stability. Intel’s generic graphics drivers are intended for testing, and we recommend using drivers from Dell. Report any issues found with this driver to Intel." So maybe I will try the last intel driver but I fear it could create some other bugs maybe in other programms or some annoyances like excess of fan noise! For now I prefer to wait for dell or MS to publish some updates, the 2004 version of Win 10 is only proposed to everyone since two or three weeks, I should have waited more before updating to it! 2)"Finally, could you please provide from Help/About all information from LO" : Version: 6.4.4.2 (x64) Build ID: 3d775be2011f3886db32dfd395a6a6d1ca2630ff CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19041; UI render: default; VCL: win; Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded Thanks
I finally found it, the Intel driver has been blacklisted from LO 7.0. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 125516 ***
