Description: When I open a new document in Writer and start typing, the text will take a few seconds to show up in the document. Moreover, most of it will be almost unreadable because the letters are somehow jumbled. This only happens in Writer (I have not done any spellcheck on this text, for example). An example would be the following text, which I copied from Writer after typing it: This is a test stirng, that I just wortet o sho who wWrietr jumblse th etetters I have never used LibreOffice on this computer, so all settings are default settings and no extensions have been added. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Writer 2. Start typing Actual Results: This is a test stirng, that I just wortet o sho who wWrietr jumblse th etetters Expected Results: This is a test string, that I just wrote to show how Writer jumbles the letters Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: OS: Linux cima 4.15.0-91-generic #92-Ubuntu SMP Fri Feb 28 11:09:48 UTC 2020 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux CPU: 2 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4214 CPU @ 2.20GHz RAM: 125 GB GPU: Quadro RTX 6000 I tried both with and without OpenCL enabled. I could not find the OpenGL settings, but I tried disabling hardware acceleration to see if that would make a difference, and it did not.
I've noticed that it doesn't happen immediatly, but rather after having Writer open for maybe half an hour. However, if any other LO app is running, then closing and re-opening Writer does not help. closing ALL LO apps and re-opening Writer will make the lag go away for a while.
Could you install the latest version 6.3.6 as today in order to test if the bug is still present?... https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/ Also try to reset LibreOffice to factory settings: Help - Restart in Safe Mode - Reset to Factory Settings
(In reply to BogdanB from comment #2) > Could you install the latest version 6.3.6 Better to try with with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
I have now tried with version 6.4.4.2 and just confirmed that it still happens. Should I also test with version 7?
(In reply to bjarne.thorsted from comment #4) > I have now tried with version 6.4.4.2 and just confirmed that it still > happens. Should I also test with version 7? LO 7 uses Skia instead of Open GL. So perhaps this could make a differenc(but I'm not an expert in this field).
