Description Jarosław Rafa 2020-06-15 17:17:55 UTC
Description:
Under GNOME Flashback desktop in Ubuntu 20.04, there is no menu bar (File, View etc.) in all LibreOffice applications. Fresh installation of the system, newest version of Libre Office.
Manu is present and works correctly under GNOME Shell desktop.

Steps to Reproduce:
Nothing special needed to reproduce - just install the configuration described and launch any LibreOffice application.

Actual Results:
No menu bar is present.

Expected Results:
The menu should be available.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
On pressing Alt-F12, there is no option in settings to enable/disable OpenGL, so I can't check whether OpenGL is enabled - probably by default it is.
I tried disabling hardware acceleration, but that didn't help.

Uninstalling the "libreoffice-gtk3" package brings the menu back, but the whole UI loses styling based on currently set GNOME theme and has a "raw" X toolkit application look. So it's a very poor workaround.
After re-installing the mentioned package the menu again isn't there.

There is at least discussion here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1863282

Reporter's own report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1883423

I assume this to be an Ubuntu issue. No mention, if using Snap package.

I don't know why Buovjaga didin't close. Seems to me that Moved is appropriate. It's like NotOurBug but with open case out there.
