It seems, that for personal letter you can't add that informations. Don't know, if this behaviour is intended or not. Help doesn't give informations about it: https://help.libreoffice.org/7.0/en-GB/text/shared/autopi/01010400.html?&DbPAR=WRITER&System=WIN cc: Design Team for further input
If you mean by "user information" the address fields, did you enable macros as requested in the message box?
Yes, makros enabled.

I created the template with OpenOffice and can use it with LibreOffice. It seems that LibreOffice does not store the data when finishing the creation of the template. The preview is always correct.
So let's take this as a potential bug. No need for UX input (besides the wizard is not really a milestone for usability).
Reproduced with: Version: 7.0.6.2 (x64) Build ID: 144abb84a525d8e30c9dbbefa69cbbf2d8d4ae3b CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: default; VCL: win Locale: en-AU (en_AU); UI: en-US Calc: threaded And a recent Master build: Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 67f2a99229101757af4f40118f4d3c83ba38648b CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-AU (en_AU); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Using the following steps: 1. Open Writer 2. Make sure you have some information in Tools - Options - LibreOffice - User Data - Address 3. File - Wizards - Letter... 4. Choose "Personal Letter - Mail 5. Click "Finish" 6. Save the template somewhere 7. Enable macros if a dialogue prompts you to do so Actual results: Even though the preview was showing the user data at the top left of the letter template while designing it, the resulting file is not populated with the same information.
Also reproduced on Ubuntu 18.04, so not Windows-specific: Version: 7.0.6.2 Build ID: 144abb84a525d8e30c9dbbefa69cbbf2d8d4ae3b CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Is this related to bug #66454 or bug #79387?
Thanks Dennis, you have spotted duplicated of this bug. Marking them as such. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 66454 ***
It's a shame to mark my bug report as resolved by marking it as duplicate of 66454 which is not resolved. It is now more than two years ago that I reported the bug and nothing happened. The longest time I ever needed to fix a bug in the software I developed was two weeks! And I am alone, you have a team! I've switched back to OpenOffice again.
(In reply to hinrich from comment #13) > It's a shame to mark my bug report as resolved by marking it as duplicate of > 66454 which is not resolved. That's the normal procedure. If a bug is a duplicate, bug report itself is marked as RESOLVED, although the bug of course is not resolved. => RESOLVED DUPLICATE > It is now more than two years ago that I > reported the bug and nothing happened. The longest time I ever needed to fix > a bug in the software I developed was two weeks! Everybody can take a bug and fix it. That's the idea of a community. So feel free to fix it as a lot of volunteers fix bug. > And I am alone, you have a > team! Yes there is a communty, but most of the developers are not paid, but they do it as volunteers. And every developer is free to take the bug he/she likes. > I've switched back to OpenOffice again. Sad to read this. I assume you know, that they only fix a couple of bugs per year. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 66454 ***
My problem report is resolved because it is marked as a duplicate. Okay. But the problem is not resolved! When will bug 66454 be resolved?
(In reply to hinrich from comment #15) > When will bug 66454 be resolved? Can't say, because - as I told before - every developer is more or less free to fix the bug he likes to fix. So we have bugs which are fixed within a week and bugs which are still present after five or more years.
