Numbering will take on the font of the assigned Character style which is set with defaults to be the "Numbering" Character style. Those defaults from standard templates happen match the default fonts template assigned in the "Default" Paragraph style.

Meaning--you may set the Numbering font to be any font you prefer by changes to the predefined "Numbering" character style--matching the in use Paragraph font, or not--or assigning a completely different character style to the Numbering.

Configuration of the Numbering (or likewise the Bullets) are done from the 'More Numbering...' dialog's 'Customize' tab.
