Comment 1 Dieter 2020-06-23 06:22:48 UTC
I can't reproduce it with

Version: 7.0.0.0.beta2 (x64)
Build ID: 1c213561a365b5666167321de68c9977500c9612
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB
Calc: CL

but I'm aso not sure, if I've understood the problem:
1. I can add a new theme. New theme is displayed in the gallery list
2. I can add files to that new theme (choose directory and press select)

Have you read https://help.libreoffice.org/7.0/en-GB/text/shared/01/gallery_files.html?System=WIN&DbPAR=WRITER&HID=cui/ui/galleryfilespage/GalleryFilesPage#bm_id3151331

I agree, that the process could be improved, I would expect, that files are displayed, if you open "Find Files".

I can see the following problem

1. Open document, that has a new gallery (or create a new gallery)
2. Open gallery properties
3. Press "Add"-Button
Result: Files are displayed in the list, but you can't add them

4. Open gallery propeties
5. Press "Find Files"-Button
6. Choose a folder and press select => All files of the folder appear in the list
7. Select one or more files and press "Add"
Result: Files are added

Does this describe your problem? Result after step 3 seems to be a bug.

Thanks Dieter!
As you said, after adding the theme of gallery, the file list and preview list are empty. I don't know how to display them.

Has Lo7.1.0.0.alpha0 + solved this problem? Where can I download Lo7.1.0.0.alpha0 +, I want to try it

I think, that's normal, because you've only created a new theme but you also have to add files to it. I described the way in comment 5. I'm not sure, if you followed all the steps.

Hello NSO LibreOffice Team,
Is this issue still reproducible with LibreOffice 7.0.0.3 ?
Comment 12 andreas_k 2020-09-09 08:03:06 UTC
I think the bug report is an workflow issue. The workflow to add stuff to the gallery should be improved.

Nope, Add should do what it says and add the selected files to the gallery. It's an ordinary bug. Whether the workflow is good or not is a different question.

=> NEW (I also changed component to LibreOffice, because it seems to affect Writer as well as Impress)

Works now with

Version: 7.4.1.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 3c58a8f3a960df8bc8fd77b461821e42c061c5f0
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB
Calc: CL

Steps
1. Open document, that has a new gallery (or create a new gallery)
2. Open gallery properties -> Files
3. Press "Add"-Button
4. Select a file -> Open

Result: File is now part of the gallery (expected)
