Created attachment 162459 [details] Help menu > LibreOffice Help dialog box MS Windows 10, in any LibreOffice app the Help menu > LibreOffice Help dialog box "LibreOffice Help Not Installed" gives the following suggestions about Offline Help: "You may either install it from our website or your system’s repositories, or read an online version." The feature request is to include a link to more explicit instructions on how to install Offline Help: "You may either download and install it from *here* or your system’s repositories, or read an online version." Where *here* contains a link to the download for this LO version, e.g. http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/6.4.4/win/x86_64/LibreOffice_6.4.4_Win_x64_helppack_en-US.msi Alternative suggestions: 1) Add a button to install it directly 2) Include Offline Help in the default installation, or add a checkbox. Rationale: The current instructions are of limited help, and lead to such questions as: Example instructions: https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/164853/how-do-i-install-built-in-local-help/
+1 Agreed. Excellent suggestion for needed improvement.
I would appreciate to install it as an extension, which would also allow to remove it later. Olivier, do you think it's feasible?
If the issue remains (cannot confirm since Linux loads the online help in the browser in 7.4) I second the request to make the dialog actionable. I also recommend to use the extensions site to share additional content. But distributing it via repositories has the advantage of physical media. Some places may just not have access to the internet.
Done already in bug 142926. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 142926 ***
