Description xordevoreaux 2020-06-29 04:14:13 UTC
Description:
https://i.imgur.com/bq3ArR9.png shows how the "Position X" property of a selected object is blank. It's not blank, it's 0.00 for being at the extreme left edge of a draw document that has no margins.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch LO Draw
2. Set the document margins to none
3. Draw any shape
4. Position the shape so that its left edge aligns with the left edge of the document
5. Observe the property box.

Actual Results:
Property box shows nothing for any value that is actually 0.00

Expected Results:
Property box should show 0.00

Reproducible: Always

Step 5 is not clear. I can open the "Position and Size" dialog. But there the position field is correct and the "position and Size" does not look like your screenshot. So please explain "property box".

Ah, you mean the sidebar.

Initially it shows 0.0, but when you deselect the shape and then mark it again, then the field is empty.

I see the problem in Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: ba33a51ff1eb34a5983870dcb50e975002e6d3a4
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18362; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (en_US); UI: en-US

It is OK in Version: 6.3.6.2 (x64)
Build ID: 2196df99b074d8a661f4036fca8fa0cbfa33a497

The position & size properties box on the sidebar looks to have been reworked.
I don't see blank values now in the fields.

Works for me in:

Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: ed4f610f4a3de12016f8308a17b6ad4f86e9d67a

WHUPS spoke too soon. I had failed to move the object on the draw slide that I was testing to 0,0. Objects at 0,0, even with the new properties box on the sidebar, are still blank when selected.

Showing blank sidebar properties.

Works for me in:

After moving an object to 0,0 on a Draw slide with zero margins, deselecting the object, and then reelecting the object, the X/Y position indicators both show 0 as intended (rather than blank).
Comment 9 xordevoreaux 2020-10-16 13:17:51 UTC
Darn, STILL broken. It was fine initially, but then when I:

1. minimized Draw
2. selected another application
3. Returned to Draw

the shape's X/Y coordinates were once again showing blank.

The other coordinates rendered fine.

Half the time it works, just depends where you click. You click off the shape that's positioned at 0,0, back onto it, off of it again, click around the interface somewhere, click back on the shape... null x-y fields.

screencap showing missing properties in sidebar

Weirdness continues. Created a new Draw document in

Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 9366f83c88fc93d40ea0c0035508f24ad5dcb144

...and now the x/y position shows up but not the width and height (see attachment).

Only after clicking, clicking off, adding new shapes, flipping between pages, more clicking, etc., did all four show up --and-- it didn't matter where on the page the drawing elements were.

I then created a new shape, and its x/y/w/h properties were completely blank until more fiddling around.

All four properties should appear in real time in the side bar after each move/edit of a drawing element.
