Description Arne Vidstrom 2020-07-07 11:33:23 UTC
Description:
If you import an SVG image with drawings outside the viewBox, and then export your document as PDF, the drawings outside the viewBox are transferred to the PDF. This causes problems if you, for example, upload the PDF to Amazon KDP. As a comparison: if you export as PDF from Inkscape and have drawings outside the viewBox, those drawings are *not* included in the PDF.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Import an SVG image with drawings outside the viewBox
2. Export the document as PDF (in my case PDF/A-1b)
3. Either inspect the resulting PDF code manually after expanding it, or try to upload the PDF to Amazon KDP, and try to preview the result

Actual Results:
Drawings outside the viewBox are included in the PDF. If you upload to Amazon KDP the preview will fail with an unspecified error, preventing you from publishing your paperback.

Expected Results:
Libreoffice should not include any drawings outside the viewBox in the PDF (Inkscape does *not* as a comparison).

Reproducible: Always
