I found that this doesn't work as of my current version. It works just fine: if I adjust columns and add 1 to the width in Col 1 then Col 2 also has the same width. There's no skewing. Umm - who would really care? Anyway, it ought to be fixed by bug 134881. But regardless of whether that fix takes or not, I can't see why this bug shouldn't be closed.
