Description avirupkundu 2020-08-07 08:54:30 UTC
Description:
When changing the icon size of notebookbar to 'Large' from the Tools->Options->Views menu, the Styles section(Default Paragraph Style for Writer/Default Cell Style for Calc) behaves inconsistently.
Changing the icon size to 'Large' causes elements of the UI to be hidden.
After clicking on any dropdown, the notebookbar resizes to its proper size and all UI elements are shown.
However on changing icon sizes back to 'Automatic' the UI elements do not revert back to icons. Instead the text 'Title', 'Heading1', 'Heading2' etc remains.
On restarting the application, the icons are back in place of text.

Also, if the icon size is set to 'Large' and the application is closed, and after reopening the application and changing the icon size to 'Automatic', if the styles dropdown is clicked, the entire dropdown disappears.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open LibreOffice Writer
2.Select Tabbed from Views->User Interface menu
3.Navigate to Tools->Options->View from the menubar
4.Select 'Large' under Icon Size->Notebookbar and click Ok
5.Click on 'Default Paragraph Style' dropdown
6.Navigate to Tools->Options->View from the menubar
7.Select 'Automatic' under Icon Size->Notebookbar and click Ok
8.Exit and restart LibreOffice Writer
9.Navigate to Tools->Options->View from the menubar
10.Select 'Large' under Icon Size->Notebookbar and click Ok
11.Exit and restart LibreOffice Writer
12.Navigate to Tools->Options->View from the menubar
13.Select 'Automatic' under Icon Size->Notebookbar and click Ok
14.Click on 'Default Paragraph Style' dropdown

Actual Results:
The icons and texts interchange between restarts of the application.
The Paragraph Styles dropdown disappears.

Expected Results:
The icons and text should not interchange between restarts of the application
The dropdown should be visible.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

In the unreleased version, the style dropdown in tabbed view was changed to a style preview. I can't see any problem, when I do your steps. Can you please try with a fresh Win-x86_64@tb77-TDF build from https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html

The master build installs in parallel and will not mess with your stable build.

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.
