Description Tim 2020-08-12 16:24:12 UTC
Description:
After installing LibreOffice 7, Reports I have with previuos versions cause LibreOffice to crash. Creating a new Report it's ok.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Report from previous LO version
2.Execute Report

Actual Results:
LO crashes and have to Force Exit

Expected Results:
Execute Report

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I can enter edition of the Report, but when I save it also crashes.

Tryed with a very simple report that only has an image, title, date, name, surname and page number/page count.

Tryed also "Enable experimental featrures", and it's the same.

Tryed also Safe modeand it's the same.
Comment 1 Tim 2020-08-12 16:32:57 UTC
Just found a way it works!
1. Go to Reports
2. Select Report and Copy
3. Paste (with name sugested, thats old name added "1")
4. Opens Ok and non crash LO
5. And now original Report also works!!!
Comment 2 Tim 2020-08-12 16:49:18 UTC
I tryed to repeat and didn't work, until I removed the image from the copy, wich I had done for the previous try.
Comment 3 Tim 2020-08-12 16:58:21 UTC
Definitely, if I edit the Report and delete the image, it goes ok.
(I'm using Firebir embeded) (MacBook Pro mid 2010 with High Sierra)
Comment 4 Tim 2020-08-12 17:09:53 UTC
One more obseervation:

When I edit the Report and try to insert an IMAGE it's ok until I save, then it crahes, but when a reopen it will open in the repor edition and the image is there! But if I execute o save, again LO crashes, although it seems to really save with the image, but then it will crash if I open it, so the only way is to have no image.

I was asked for a sample file and I attached it yestarday, and changed to unconfirmed as Xisco indicated me.
I don't know of any other information I should give.
Comment 9 Xisco Faulí 2020-08-14 13:26:18 UTC
I can't reproduce it in

Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 1a524be53f62d2509920c2caa80817819f4aa9d9
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present
Comment 10 Xisco Faulí 2020-08-14 13:27:21 UTC
Does it crash when you edit it or when you double click on it and open it?

Restarted in safe mode and it's the same.

In this last case it crashes when I finish edition and Save,
Comment 14 Robert Großkopf 2020-08-14 19:23:07 UTC
Couldn't reproduce any crash with the report here.
Could execute both reports of the example.
Could also open the reports for editing, switching the image in one report and execute the report while opened for editing.

So no possibility to reproduce with LO 7.0.0.3 on OpenSUSE 15.1 64bit rpm Linux.
Could it be a special bug of Mac-version?
Comment 15 Tim 2020-08-15 08:41:37 UTC
And now I've seen that it also crashes if I try to creat a Report with the Wizard opcion. Just clicking "Use Wizard..." it'll crash.

In Design mode I can creat a Report.
Comment 16 Alex Thurgood 2020-09-14 08:22:44 UTC
No crash for me on opening any of the reports in the provided test file.

Version: 7.0.1.2

CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.15.6; UI render: default; VCL: osx

Calc: threaded
Comment 17 Alex Thurgood 2020-09-14 08:24:46 UTC
Seems like it could be limited to a specific version of macOS.
Comment 18 Alex Thurgood 2020-09-14 08:29:37 UTC
Edited both reports, inserted SVG image from Finder into image placeholder, saved, no crash.
Comment 19 Alex Thurgood 2020-09-14 08:37:43 UTC
Possibly related to bug 127354

Thank you for testing...

May be because I have Mac OS X 10.13.6 and can't update any more?

May be something in my computer? As I have other problems with Libreoffice, after some time using Base, an error comes out when accesing tables and have to resart Libreoffice. I have quited Libreoffice and reintalled, but it's the same.

@Tim : which version of Java / JDK do you have installed on that Mac ?

I'm beginning to think this is a duplicate of bug 134754

Yes, but the report builder uses Java, even if you have a firebird embedded DB.

@Tim: when LO crashes, do you ever get an Apple diagnostics crash report that the system offers to send to Apple ?

If yes, could you copy the contents of that report and attach it to this bug ?

If you don't get any such message, you can sometimes find soffice crash logs in the /Library/Logs folder of your user folder, and if you have one from around the time of the crash, you might want to post the relevant bits as an attachment here.

I'm affrraid neither.

It just comes out LibreOffice 7.0 Document Rcovery, and the thing is that it recovers and opens where it was left, in Report Edition, with the image in it's place, but if I try to save or ejecute, it will crash again, until I delete the image.

It will not crahs if I delete the grafic from the Report, and leave the Image control, empty.

Nor with the other Error I get any crash report, just the message I attach.

Now, with more testingo, also with only the "image control" if I edit the Report, and do nothing, just click on something and it asks if I want to save, if a save now it will crash.
Comment 31 Tim 2020-09-22 18:14:35 UTC
Also crashes in Queries -> Use Wizard to creat Query
With the click on that it will crash.

Queries -> Create Query in Design View
Opens and can prepare the Query. When I ejecute it, before savign, it crashes. Then I can recover LO and will open where it was left, in edition mode of the Query, and after savig the Query it will work.
