Description LeroyG 2020-08-14 18:46:23 UTC
Description:
Following the LibreOffice tip of the day: Left-handed? Enable Tools > Options > Language Settings > Languages > Asian and check Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > View > Ruler > Right-aligned, which displays the scrollbar to the left.

Now my vertical ruler has the numbers fliped horizontally.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Choose menu Tools - Options - Language Settings - Languages - Asian. Apply.
2. Choose menu Tools - Options - LibreOffice Writer - View - Ruler - Right-aligned. OK.
3. To reverse: Unselect Right aligned and Asian.

Actual Results:
After step 2: Vertical ruler and scrollbar swap sides. Ruler's numbers flips horizontally.
After step 3: Vertical ruler and scrollbar appear in default sides. Ruler's numbers remain fliped horizontally.

Expected Results:
After step 2: Vertical ruler and scrollbar swap sides.
After step 3: Vertical ruler and scrollbar appear in default sides.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Version: 6.3.6.2 (x86)
Build ID: 2196df99b074d8a661f4036fca8fa0cbfa33a497
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: es-MX (es_MX); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Setted with OpenGL, and tried to revert with and without OpenGL.

Restored registrymodifications.xcu from a backup, but after repeating the steps, happens the same. So, restored again.

Resetted my UserProfile (and lost my registrymodifications.xcu backups), tried again with the 3 steps, and the same. So: No more scrollbar to the left.

Ruler and scrollbar after step 3.
Comment 3 LeroyG 2020-08-14 19:13:46 UTC
After reseting Windows, numbers are not flipped after step 2, but only after step 3.
Comment 4 Dieter 2020-12-22 16:02:45 UTC
I can't confirm it with

Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: 315c7570c4a72f4c834086082825533b1e50d1bf
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded

Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ or with a master build from http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html? You can install master alongside the standard version. I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.

a)
Version: 7.2.0.1 (x86) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 32efc3b7f3a71cfa6a7fa3f6c208333df48656cc
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: es-MX (es_MX); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

b)
1. Open a new text document
2. Choose menu View - Rulers - Vertical ruler
3. Choose menu Tools - Options - LibreOffice Writer - View, mark Right-aligned, OK
4. Choose menu Tools - Options - LibreOffice Writer - View, unmark Right-aligned, OK

Sometimes don't work well (numbers are in the correct position), sometimes so-so (see screenshots ending in 3 and 5).

By the way, if you unmark Asian (menu Tools - Options - Language Settings - Languages) Right-aligned became hidden.

d) Screenshots 5 and 6 were taken just after the first new (parallel) install. Screenshots 1 to 4 were taken after profile reset.

I gave a try with LO Debian package 7.4.0.2, I don't reproduce this.

Could someone give a try with LO 7.3.5 or a daily build from master branch (see https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Win-x86_64@tb77-TDF/current/)?
