Description Telesto 2020-08-16 14:49:59 UTC
Description:
Paragraph style changed to Landscape after double clicking page style in sidebar

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attachment 164350 [details]
2. Place cursor on page 1 -> Format -> Page style -> Organizer tab
3. Change Next style to left & press OK
4. Hoover on page break between page 1/2 -> Edit Page break
5. Text flow tab -> Notice page break enabled with Page style set to chapter5odd
6. Cancel
7. Place cursor on page 2 -> Format -> Page style -> Organizer tab
8. Next style chapter5even
9. Cancel
10. Go to page 3
11. Sidebar -> Styles -> Page Styles -> Double click Landscape
12. Page 2-3 are changing (bug 35806)
13. Repeat 2, 5 and 7

Dialog in step 2 still contains left, however the next style actually is Landscape.

Dialog in step 5 shows 'landscape' overwriting the original setting chapter5odd as the next paragraph style in under step 7

Actual Results:
Text flow setting replaced & Next paragraph style

Expected Results:
I dislike that multiple settings are 'changed'. I would expect a single one
As said in bug 135802 and bug 135806 this is really hard to follow.

Another thing I personally dislike is that you can't the page style on the page itself, but always previous (expect if you are using the paragraph settings)

I personally would like the change the page style of the current page as on option too. (Which should affect all pages within page break region)

Reproducible: Always

Sorry, multiple perspective s(symptoms) of to same context .. Hope it can be fixed with one commit... however, I dislike reporting everything in a single report (even when closely related), as issues tend to be overlooked.

While there is a risk of some general non-explicit seemingly all-in-one answer, which doesn't make much sense in some of those cases.

What I wish to happen..

1) As said in bug 135813 -> The text flow 'break settings' out of the paragraph dialog and move to dedicated dialog attached to the 'blue page break bar'
2) If I double click a page style in sidebar - page style I want they 'Breaks with page style being applied. It shouldn't touch the Page Styles -> Next style setting.

As that is about what the next style should be when inserting a new page break (ALT+ENTER), if nothing specific is set.

It should solve most annoyances. Or at least some kind benjamin proof, as you always can override the 'page style' dialog.

Note: this still doesn't solve the issue of Next page style being set on previous page. So lacking 'page style' or this page. Next page style (for previous page) maybe the same as 'this page style for the current page, and also connect, but love access at the 'current page' too

For the record all the see also are more of the same stuff. So prefer an integral solution. This is related to bug 135802

If applying landscape style to page 2 (which between page breaks) I inclined to say it should be limited to the page between page breaks.
