Telesto, it seems, that nobody could confirm this bug since more than one year. So I‘d like to ask, if it is still reproducible for you. Could you please try to reproduce it with a master build from http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.

No clue. Maybe MacOS only
1. Open the attached file 2. Right click "nervously" and select Ignore 3. Right Click "looked" and replace it with the suggestion -> Nervously is again marked 'dirty' (wrong spelled) Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: d5e55d204b71710eb5eb5d2c683dd6698626df3c CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (nl_NL); UI: en-US Calc: CL
I've opened file from comment 2, but no word is underlined (BTW: what is wrong with "nervously" and "looked"?) Tested with Version: 7.2.1.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 87b77fad49947c1441b67c559c339af8f3517e22 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19043; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE Calc: CL

(In reply to Dieter from comment #8) > I've opened file from comment 2, but no word is underlined (BTW: what is > wrong with "nervously" and "looked"?) A lot if you use German spell check language Automatic spell checking needs to be enabled/ german dictionary installed
I also see it. It's not needed to correct a word to make the ignored word be flagged again: Using the following text in a blank document: "We have a beauriful day in town" with "beauriful" being the wrong word, and set to be ignored. Actions that would unexpectedly make the ignored word be marked again as misspelled: a. Removing the space in "We have", "have a" or "day in" either by pressing backspace or delete. Curiously enough, removing the space between "in" and "town" does not make the word be marked back as misspelled). c. Inserting an extra space between "We have", "have a", "a beauriful", "beauriful day" but not between "day in" or "in town". d. Inserting a character inside the word "We" (for example, changing it to Wxe), or "have" or "day" but not inside "in" or "town". e. As the OP says, correcting nearly misspelled words. Misspelling "We", "have" or "day" and then using the suggestions to correct the word, but not "in" or "town". Version: 7.2.2.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 20(Build:2) CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.14; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Debian package version: 1:7.2.2-1 Calc: threaded
I can confirm that it is very easy to revert the ignore action from the context menu, by using a variety of actions, on 5.4.0.3 as well as a recent trunk build. Building upon comment 11's steps: 1. New document with: "We have a beauriful dayr in town" 2. Right-click > Ignore "beauriful"; change something before "beauriful" (correct a word, remove a character, add a character...): ignore is reset 3. Ignore it again; change something in the word directly after it, "dayr" (correct it, remove a character, add a character...): ignore is reset 4. Ignore again; press Enter at the end of line: ignore is reset So I think that it can be summarised as: Ignore is reset if: a) The word right after is modified (in the same paragraph) b) Anything before it is modified (in the same paragraph; including pressing enter with the cursor at the beginning of the paragraph) c) A new paragraph is inserted at the end the paragraph Tested in: Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 44837a12d12be3e525fa48b37c3dd2553cc97d94 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded In OOo 3.3, I could already see issue a), so marking as inherited even though it got sensibly worse along the way. Issue c) was introduced between 6.4.7.2 and 7.0.6.2, according to my tests.
