Description Alexander Polkhovskiy 2020-08-27 14:58:40 UTC
Description:
Table of contents shows +1 page number sometimes.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached file. The bug is reproduced there.
2. Seems to me that the bug appears if title text fills one line in TOC, leaving no space before page number on the right.
3. The second condition - TOC should fill all page, only reduced text should be able to fit below it.

Actual Results:
All page numbers are shifted by +1. I see "...3" where "...2" should be.

Expected Results:
Page numbers should show real page numbers.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I have found 2 workarounds to "fix" this behavior:
1. If you delete page break after TOC, you’ll see TOC fixed.
2. If you reduce title 4.2 text, TOC also will be OK.
3. And of course if TOC is one tile less or bigger no bug appears.

simplified document

I think is NOT about TOC.
I have simplified the document. And this simple document it is showing in the bottom Page 1 of 3 (Page 1 of 2 to print). Somewhere there is a page 3. I think this is the problem and not the TOC.

Or maybe the problem is that the Page break is inserted with Page Position "Before".

After you have wrote it, I noticed, that "somewhere there is a page" 2, not 3. And it is the page after 1 and before 3 - even page 2, that isn't visible. If you change Page break's start Page number to any even number, everything works fine.
And there is a bug about even virtual page automatically added and counted by "Show page number" variable if you break an odd page. But this time "Page" field and TOC count pages differently - and this happens only in particular case.

Dear Alexander Polkhovskiy,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword
