Description warrior_hamster 2020-09-02 14:55:08 UTC
Description:
When I open the Libre Office Launcher it gets weird artifacts around the recent file images and templates images that get worse the more you hover over them.
This has done this in previous versions. It doesn't appear to do it in any other applications or games.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Libre Office launcher
2.Hover mouse over recent file images etc

Actual Results:
weird puddle like lines surrounding recent files or template images

Expected Results:
not weird lines

Reproducible: Always

I tried all the versions from 7.0 and I can't repro.

Try this solution:
Go to Help - Restart in Safe Mode - Reset - Factory Settings -
everything should be ok.

Waiting for your results.
Comment 4 warrior_hamster 2020-09-03 08:01:51 UTC
I have done a full factory reset ticking both boxes under the reset option for good measure.
Unfortunately this doesn't fix the problem, however running in safe mode does solve it.
It's a shame i can't tell you in what version I started noticing it in.
Who knows, it may be a graphics driver thing but as i mentioned, it seems oddly specific to Libreoffice launcher and i've not noticed any issues in any other applications or games.
Comment 5 BogdanB 2020-09-03 10:20:16 UTC
Some of the aparent bugs are in fact corruption of old profile. Settings from your old LibreOffice remain in the new versions, creating problems.

It's ok now for you, so I will close this bug.

I marked wrong as fixed.

Based on your comment "Unfortunately this doesn't fix the problem, however running in safe mode does solve it." I will mark it as unconfirmed again.

If it's about LibreOffice 7.0, this might help
Launch LibreOffice Menu Tools -> Options -> View -> Check Force Skia software rendering & press OK (assuming Force Skia being unchecked by default)

Comment 9 warrior_hamster 2020-09-03 21:18:12 UTC
Amazing thanks, checking the skia rendering box appears to have fixed it. :)
Thanks,
M
P.S. sorry for pointlessly adding another artifact image, it was just because more appeared in a new situation.
Comment 10 Luboš Luňák 2020-09-04 08:13:43 UTC
This appears to be possibly a driver problem. Please provide your <cachedir>/skia.log (where on Windows the <cachedir> should be
AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\cache).

Thanks for all the efforts. However, sadly not to helpful. Vulkan needs to be turned on to see needed inform. So Tools -> Options -> View -> Uncheck Force Skia Raster, Press OK & Restart

Upload the Skia log (should look different compared to the one you uploaded)

All but most recent nvidia drivers have been blocked, so this is hopefully not a problem. If somebody can still reproduce this problem, please reopen and provide the information as said in comment #10.
