Description Sam Van den Eynde 2020-09-10 21:20:03 UTC
Description:
Libreoffice Calc 7 crashes when I copy a sheet inside a particular document that I unfortunately can't share. The crash occurs when saving the document after copying the sheet.

I have seen this crash on version 6.5 as well.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the document
2. Copy the specific sheet (duplicate it inside the document)
3. Save the document (saving triggers the crash)

Actual Results:
LO crashes and offers to send a crash report and document recovery. The document recovers to the point before the sheet was copied.

Expected Results:
The document should be save as usual.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
I am using the AppImage but have seen this with the deb and snap version as well. Currently Ubuntu 20.04 (fully patched) but this is also not a determining element.

Version: 7.0.1.2

If you can't share the document please try this test:

Go to menu Help - Restart in Safe Mode - Factory Settings and Reset.
Why this? Because your LibreOffice 7 installation could have a bad profile, so, wehn restarting in Factory Settings is just like your computer see for the first time a LibreOffice instalation and everything should be fine.

I need an info from you if this solved your problem.

------------

After your test, if your test fails, there could be another way, to sent that document in an email to test just some of us in particular. The document than will be deleted from our computers. We need them just to test your case.

Hi,

The same issue occurs after resetting the profile. I was quite sure about that but the good thing is I got some crash reports out of it.

Attempt 1: saving the document causes the save proces to freeze at about half way (progress bar at the bottom of the doc): https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/babcc404-5076-4ce0-963b-f5031cc2be5e

Attempt 2: saving the document crashes LO: https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/28d34ab3-559d-46e5-a115-51c9efc1e15f

I was unable to reproduce this issue on both stable and development build and haven't seen a crash being triggered. Please provide a sample document which I can use to reproduce the crash.

I am sorry, sharing is not possible as mentioned.

I have spent hours deleting data from the document and anonymizing the data, which unfortunately result in the issue going away as well.

I am available to test but I cannot share this data.

Would you mind sending me the document to my email? I can investigate it without sharing it to other people
