Description Anita Lewis 2020-09-23 23:43:02 UTC
Standard Filter. Use first letter of the field name, for example "a" for Author.
Now it is not possible to enter condition or variable. This used to work for me.
Using up and down arrows to select or the mouse pointer to select field name does work.

6.4.6.2 on Linux Mint 20.

I have not seen a request for more information. I can try to do strace and post that. Do you have something else you are looking for?

Where do you open the "Standard Filter"?

I have tried the following in a table:
Opened Standard Filter. Choose a field name by key (as you did for "Author". Could also select the field by mouse. Could enter any condition…

I can't find a bug here.

Tested with OpenSUSE 15.2 and different LO versions:

Version: 6.4.7.2
Build-ID: 639b8ac485750d5696d7590a72ef1b496725cfb5

and also

Version: 7.2.2.2 / LibreOffice Community

I am the filter with the filter icon. I'm attaching an image with it circled. I have gotten used to using the down arrow key to select the field name. That works while using "A" key stops further work in attempting to filter.

Thanks for checking.

Its the same filter I have tried. 3 different fields could be filtered there.

I have tested again: Also with the arrow key down I will get the fields in the order I defined them in the table. Then I tried it by setting the characters. It also works …

Which version of LO do you use? The version from Linux Mint or the version provided by LibreOffice directly?
Which VCL is running? gtk3 or kde?
Have a look for it at Help → About LibreOffice

I'm using the one from Mint/Ubuntu and gtk3

I'll look into one direct from LO just to see if there is a difference in this.

Thanks again.

Downloaded the debs from Libreoffice (7.1.6.2) and changed the link for /usr/bin/libreoffice to the folder in /opt where it got installed. Works as intended now. Thanks again, Robert! I still have the old version, so I'll check on it as upgrades come through.
