Created attachment 165832 [details] Style Sidebar without Update/New Style buttons The Styles sidebar section has an drop down menu with "preselected" styles and used styles. That's fine. left to it there is an Update and new Style button. This functionality is available in Menubar -> Styles where it fit well and is easy to grab. I would remove the two buttons here, which give an better alignment with the Character FontName and FontSize drop down menues.
OMG, would you please learn the correct notation for the UI elements! https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/File:LO-HIG_SideeBar-Terminology.png This is a change to the Properties deck -> Style content panel. Deleting two button controls there. Yes and in addition to the 'Styles' main menu, the Sidebar 'Styles' deck accessed from the 'Tab bar' has the 'Styles Action' split button that includes the two mentioned controls--'New style from selection' and 'Update selected style'. As well as the 'Load styles...' dialog. Remove the button controls from the Properties content panel if you like--in addition to the main menu 'Styles' menu and the 'Styles' Sidebar deck--they are available on the Formatting toolbar, the Formatting (Style) toolbar, and are available (but displaced) on the NB Tabbed view. Otherwise, I don't agree that removing the button controls from the Style content panel will "improve" alignment of the content panels on the Properties deck. But then we seem to have some difference of opinion as to SB layout in general. Seems like a lot of UI churn for NO return, the GTK Glade .UI packing of the Sidebar does not require this continual disturbance.
-1 from me
thanks for the feedback.
