After inserting table (2x2) cursor is placed in header table on page 3. Telesto, that's not your result, isn't it? Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: 6ee9ab65db0a993bc93bbf0140f0a4657be10657 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB Calc: threaded
To be more simple: 1. New Writer, Insert -> Page Break. Now you have a blank document with two pages. 2. Scroll to first page, and insert a header area. 3. Click the header area and insert a simple table. --> The table is correctly inserted to all the 2 pages, but the problem is the view is scrolled to the last page. The expected result is that, after insert the table in the first page, the view remains in the first page. Reproduced on the current master. Set to NEW.
The bug reporter has already reported a similar (same?) issue, in Bug 134186, but that one was in footer (rather than header). I suspect they are the same duplicated bug, but keep them as separate ones for now.
It is the same bug behaviour when inserting other objects such as image or gallery shapes.

(In reply to Kevin Suo from comment #5) > It is the same bug behaviour when inserting other objects such as image or > gallery shapes. That's me being forgetful and not having the other bug listed as metabug
