Description: Open the attached impress file: there is a math formula with large parentheses in it. Up till version 6 this was displayed ok in all applications. Now in rel. 7 the formula is displayed correctly in Writer ONLY: all other apps show it with grotesquely thick parentheses, with spacing gone totally berserk (check the items with red arrows pointing to them for example. Steps to Reproduce: 1. open an impress file, then insert any math formula using scalable brackets 2. during editing, brackets look ok. 3. when you finish editing and exit the formula, all scalable brackets become ugly and wrongly spaced with the other elements, like in the attached example 4. if you copy the formula and paste it into a writer document, then you can see it correctly there - otherwise in Impress, Draw and calc the formula displays with the nasty brackets; there you can have it correctly displayed only if you open it for editing Actual Results: The corrupted displays of formulas in Impress make it very hard to use it for presentations on quantitative subjects. Release 6 DID NOT have this problem Expected Results: Formula with scalable brackets should display correctly in all applications Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.0.2.2 (x64) Build ID: 8349ace3c3162073abd90d81fd06dcfb6b36b994 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 17763; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: it-IT (it_IT); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Created attachment 166311 [details] An impress file with a math formula that shows the wrong scalable brackets
I'm suspecting this is bug 136891.
Yes the one you're mentioning is at least a linked problem, since it appeared in rel. 7 and concerns scalable special characters. Hope this can be solved soon, at the moment as a workaround I have to copy each formula in writer, then paste special it back in a bitmap format, while keeping the original formula in the empty space surrounding the slide for future editing. It is a really burdensome way to work...
(In reply to Aron Budea from comment #2) > I'm suspecting this is bug 136891. God yes, it's the same... and I did not realize things are MUCH worse with scalable square roots symbols.... they display in a totally wrong and disjointed position, just over their content. I realized it now since I had to work on some slides with square roots on them. In fact, this is sadly making LO7 unusable for presentations involving math formulas. I have to downgrade to rel. 6 Any good soul that will have a look at this will have my gratidute as well....
