Description:
When I'm typing in Writer, letters appears after a delay.

Worse, when I user accented characters like «â» in «Château» for example,  they appear before the 1 or 2 previous characters, so I get «âChteau».

I need to type Ch, then wait the «Ch» appears, and then type «â» to force it after the «Ch».

Sorry, I don't know if it's clear or not, it's really annoying, thanks a lot for your help!

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Type «Château» with a normal/fast typing speed
2.Let letters appear : ...â...C...h...t...e...a...u
3.

Actual Results:
I get âChteau instead of Château (with all accented characters, always the same problem)

Expected Results:
Château


Reproducible: Always


User Profile Reset: Yes


OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
I'm working on MacOS X Big Sur, but I had the same issue before.

Ok, I think I found the origin of this issue.

I'm editing documents with a background image as branding (only 700ko). When I remove it, the problem disappears. But, for the branding of our company, I need this backgound picture...

Speed should be better in 6.4 branch. And is indeed related to they background image. It's kind of MacOS.. and well support isn't great.. lack of developers... so maybe around for a while

Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ?
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
