Description: Lock-ups (not responding) and wrong page numbers in TOCs when page style is landscape and has two columns. I haven't experimented with portrait and two columns. Modifying the page style to single column always seems to fix it. For specifics please see the attached docs. Steps to Reproduce: I have prepared some self-explanatory documents containing this info. Actual Results: I have prepared some self-explanatory documents containing this info. Expected Results: I have prepared some self-explanatory documents containing this info. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: The problems largely centre around combining a two-column layout with TOCs. The worst problems are (a) lock-up (not responding) when working with TOCs and TOCs showing wrong page numbers. Since the problems are dependent on document content I've prepared seven documents which exhibit the problems. Each document contains text explaining what the bug is and how to make it happen. Some comparatively minor bugs are also included in the reports. I know you like to have separate bug reports for separate bugs, but they appear related and after spending most of the weekend trying to tease out the logic behind it all and produce reasonably simple documents that show the problems I've had enough! The lock-up problem occurs in safe mode. I didn't try the others in safe mode. Is OpenGL enabled? haven't a clue. I went into tools->Options->LibreOffice->View and there isn't a checkbox for it.

Oops -- forgot to mention this. At one stage I also had a document which locked up when opening it too. It appears to be related to the lock-ups reported in the attached docs, as it happened after a lock-up when editing it. OpenOffice did't crash when opening this file, so I could delete the TOC and after that the lock-up on opening it with LibO didn't happen. Unfortunately I've not been able to reproduce that one since. If I do I'll attach another file. Perhaps I also ought to say it looks as if I'm going to have to edit the TOC in my 'real' document manually to get the page numbers right. Grrr.
Alan, thanks for you report. Unfortunately, it is not helpful to add several documents with no description what to do. It's a lot of work to read every document (in fact, I skipped th last three). And I couldn't really find steps to reproduce a bug. In one documetn youmentioned these problems: a) I don’t want page 1 to be the first page; b) I do want a footer saying Page # of #; c) the TOC was showing incorrect page numbers; and d) attempts to fix these were stymied by bugs. a) It's possible to customise page number b) I don't understand this problem, because you can easily delete this part of a footer c) I don't see a TOC in one of your documents. So plase read LO Help, use https://ask.libreoffice.org or read the manual. If you don't agree, please respect some basic rules in Bugzilla: 1. One report for one problem 2. Please add steps to reproduce within a comment => RESOLVED NOTABUG
Having spent most of a weekend teasing out the problems and reducing them to VERY SIMPLE documents containing instructions as to how recreate the problems -- including lock-ups! -- I find the dismissive tone of this response very disappointing. I thought I had gone to a lot of trouble to be helpful. I will file new reports. Alan Robinson.
