Description jan d 2020-12-02 21:37:37 UTC
Description:
Click at near the right margin of a page overwrites alignment next-to-it paragraph to right aligned.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Write a character or more
2. Click at near the right margin at the same height as that line of the paragraph you wrote that character in

Actual Results:
That paragraphs alignment is overwritten to right aligned.

Expected Results:
No alignment changes

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I don't know if that is some sort of feature/bug. It could be some overly clever accelerator for alignment, but if its visibility and affordance is messed up and it is easy to trigger, e.g. when one wants to set the cursor at the end of a line.

Version: 7.0.3.1 on Ubuntu 20.04 on Gnome ( using X-Server)

The alignment toolbar is shown to demonstrate that the alignment is actually changed.
There is also some flickering of what looks to be a white, left-facing triangle?

Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

I did do this, and it turns out that the bug is indeed a feature: For some reason my profile had "Direct Cursor Mode" turned on. (https://help.libreoffice.org/7.0/en-US/text/swriter/02/18130000.html?&DbPAR=WRITER&System=UNIX).

I put this to resolved→invalid, although I might be worth checking if other users have the same issue.
