Description: Problems of wording. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open LibreOffice Help (F1) for LO Writer (if you're already in Writer this will be the default in the menu). 2. Select the Index tab, if not preselected. 3. Go to default templates > defining/resetting (this gets the topic Changing the Default Template). 4. Execute the steps on that page. Actual Results: LO's step 4 says, "You will then be prompted for a name". You will not be prompted for a name at that point, given that you already entered a name at LO's step 3. LO's step 7 says, "Click on the template that you created, and click Set as Default." I did not see that option, nor an icon that represented it via a tooltip. Expected Results: Since I succeeded in creating a template with new defaults anyway, my expectation is for the Help to conform to how. Therefore, I'd delete the extraneous phrase from LO's step 4 and, for LO's step 7, I'd say "Context-click on the template that you created, and select Set as Default." Differences include that the click is for a context menu (usually the right-click menu) and clarity for the next action stated. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Reproducibility is likely always. I don't seem to have a User Profile reset or an OpenGL option. Version: 7.0.3.1 Build ID: 00(Build:1) CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 5.9; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded

Could you please paste the link to that help page here? Thank you.
There's no link, at least in the sense of a URL. I replicated the STR without using an Internet connection.
I assume you're using offline help. But finally I found the help-page you refer to [1] and I agree, that this page should be updated Step 4 ist unclear (it doesn't appear a new box and you don't have to choose a new name) Step 7 is missing the infomrmation, that you set to default in the context menue [1] https://help.libreoffice.org/7.1/en-GB/text/swriter/guide/template_default.html?DbPAR=WRITER#bm_id3155913
Please see if there are any problems in: https://help.libreoffice.org/7.1/en-GB/text/shared/guide/standard_template.html Please note that swriter/guide/template_default.html is deleted from master and will not appear in LO 7.2 ( https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/help/+/107537 ) Perhaps this bug is WF (because of string freeze for 7.1).
(In reply to sdc.blanco from comment #4) > Please note that swriter/guide/template_default.html is deleted from master > and will not appear in LO 7.2 Thanks for this hint. Help page is not longer paet of LO 7.2. Now we have [1] for setting a template as default and [2] about "Save as Template" dialog. Nick, informations are correct in LO 7.2. We can leave this bug open for LO 7.1 but I won't expect, that there will be a change in LO Help, because everything is fine with 7.2. So I close it as RESOLVED WORKSFOME. Feel free to change it back, if you disagree.
