Description: Standard labels, should be simple, isn't now, and hasn't ever been. First, moving from a spreadsheet to a mailing label should be a simple wizard step, not a multiple step convert to database, identify fields, mail merge nightmare. Next, if one ever does get what LOOKS like a printable label set, the printing is usually off and uncorrectable -- in my case, the first column of labels truncates the left side of the first character on a pretty vanilla printer )(Canon iX6520. ANNOYING! Of my 30 labels, I have 20 usable ones. TAKE A LOOK AT WORD PERFECT FOR THE WAY IT OUGHT TO WORK. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create mailing list as a spreadhsheet 2.Ask someone skilled in clerical work but not a LO jockey to TRY to make mailing labels. Follow online HELP instructions 3.After stumbling around in the dark -- MAYBE she gets a usable label set 4. Print. Actual Results: Sometimes, upon saving, at the end of step 3, the whole new file just disappears. (about 66% of the time) Occasionally you get a printable set (or reopen a saved file that actually has data in it (50%)) and discover, upon printing, that the first column of labels is too far to the left, so the first third of the first letter does not print, rendering that column of labels unusable Expected Results: 30 usable labels per sheet Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: [Information automatically included from LibreOffice] Locale: en-US Module: SpreadsheetDocument [Information guessed from browser] OS: Windows (All) OS is 64bit: no WRONG, it's 64 bit
There are several reports about labels, perhaps they contain some of the same things you request. Could you check them: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/buglist.cgi?component=Printing%20and%20PDF%20export&component=UI&component=Writer&list_id=1436178&query_format=advanced&resolution=---&short_desc=label&short_desc_type=allwordssubstr Other than that, you should clearly specify one single thing that you want. We take one issue per report.

Per the request for more information: I wasn't so much reporting a bug as suggesting that the methodology for LO's labels -- unlike SO MUCH of the rest of this VERY EXCELLENT suite -- is needlessly complex and impossible to explain to a normal clerical worker. I have my own How2 cheat sheet that contains 21 steps! I stand by my original comment: " TAKE A LOOK AT WORD PERFECT FOR THE WAY IT OUGHT TO WORK. " I am unaware of any further "information or data" that I can provide, but as a lover of the LO program and ideal, I would be happy to correspond with any human addressing this needlessly complex method.

Sure, I was human in April this year and I'm still human :) What I'm saying is that at the moment your report is not actionable as it is too vague, while we already have dozens of reports about labels. Of course it would be a bit tedious for you to review the existing reports, but I think you are the only one who could correlate them with what you have in mind.
Thanks for taking the time to open a report, Michael. I agree with Buovjaga, in that this bug report is too wide/vague to eventually come to a fix. It seems we can identify two issues here: 1. an enhancement request to streamline and simplify the process to get from a spreadsheet of contacts to a printable label sheet; 2. a specific issue with printing out a sheet on a Canon iX6520. I would suggest modifying this here report to focus on point 1, but we would need more info, including what your current process is and what precisely you'd like it to look like if it were to be streamlined (not just mention another piece of software, but provide a series of steps that a wizard could take the user through.) Number 2 needs to be a separate report, ideally with an example document so the issue can be reproduced.
Dear Michael Potts, Please read this message in its entirety before proceeding. Your bug report is being closed as INSUFFICIENTDATA due to inactivity and a lack of information which is needed in order to accurately reproduce and confirm the problem. We encourage you to retest your bug against the latest release. If the issue is still present in the latest stable release, we need the following information (please ignore any that you've already provided): a) Provide details of your system including your operating system and the latest version of LibreOffice that you have confirmed the bug to be present b) Provide easy to reproduce steps – the simpler the better c) Provide any test case(s) which will help us confirm the problem d) Provide screenshots of the problem if you think it might help e) Read all comments and provide any requested information Once all of this is done, please set the bug back to UNCONFIRMED and we will attempt to reproduce the issue. Please do not: a) respond via email b) update the version field in the bug or any of the other details on the top section of our bug tracker Warm Regards, QA Team MassPing-NeedInfo-FollowUp
