Description Telesto 2020-12-14 21:25:33 UTC
Red underline squiggle line hiatus when when highlighting part of word

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached file
2. Zoom at 100%-120%
3. Select "tional"
4. Highlight it yellow.. notice the 'underline' changing waves

It also causes shifting moving letters depending in zoom-level between 100-170% (but no clue if this VCL floating point topic).. so the wave distortion maybe related to.. or highlighting (and other formatting) is somehow affecting rendering'

So painting again/calculating starting at starting point of the change. Which is is in the middle of word in this case.. Should be less noticeable if this would happen at an empty space.. (space-bar area). This would at minimum mask the flawed better..

But needs someone with actual knowledge about this kind of thing :P

And yes, this topic kind of the area who cares. But still see it as a discrepancy with the superb situation

Actual Results:
The is break in the line at left where highlighting starts (but dependent on zoom level, zoom out and it's more noticeable)

Expected Results:
Don't see any reason for the interruption the waves

Reproducible: Always

I can confirm it with

Version: (x64)
Build ID: dcf040e67528d9187c66b2379df5ea4407429775
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded

"Addetional" is underlind after opening and underlining of "tional" changes after highlighting.

I can't confirm it with master ("Addetional" isn't underlined after opening. But as far as I know master doesn't include spell checking by default. That might be the explanation.

Confirmed on Linux with:

Version: (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: f97a7b965be154824e108802b386e3132b0a237a
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Also in OOo 3.3, so inherited.

Issue also happens with other formatting, like bolding part of the word. And in other components, like Calc.
