Fridrich/David: any thoughts here? eg, would it be a complementary module of libabw or rather an alternative/competitor?
Also, just to be sure, are you still working on it? (last commits are from 2019-08-17 according to gerrit.libreoffice.org/libabw or https://github.com/LibreOffice/libabw)

libabw is finished (in the sense that it handles all features of the AbiWord file format) so it's hardly surprising there aren't any recent commits in the repo...
