Can you elaborate the steps?

OK, thanks. The clip shows you to be on the TB77 nightly from 2020-12-22

Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: 4041c68ea59181f1c4774c356809066d2051db41
CPU threads: 4; BS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win

Note that it shows rendering as Skia with Vulkan GPU rendering enabled.

So, we'll also need to know your GPU details (chip and driver). Those can be found in a file "skia.log" in your LibreOfficeDev profile's cache folder.

Also, does the LO crash stop if:

1.) you disable the Vulkan GPU rendering (main menu Tools -> Options -> View and checkbox 'Force Skia software rendering')?

Or,

2.) disable Skia rendering completely, and use "Default" GDI based rendering (main menu Tools -> Options -> View and uncheck Skia rendering, and then uncheck 'Use hardware acceleration'

Please check with those settings. Also, had you been able to work in Impress with Skia rendering with the 7.0.4 release build?

It is written, when skia activated.

I've deactivated skia such as in version 7.0.4.2.
Version 7.2.0.0 still crashed.
I send my skia.log as an attachment.

I wish a merry Christmas, Helmut!

Well, Skia may still be enabled but the Vulkan GPU rendering is not. So if fully disabled, you may have

UI render: default; VCL: win

rather than

UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
or
UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win

But, we are interested in what GPU and driver is on your system. Please reenable the Skia/Vulkan rendering, and then copy out the skia.log--the log will then show the details for the GPU. Thanks.

Hello,

I've tested LibreOffice 7.2.0.0 once more.
I detected the problem somewhere else.
I changed in EXTRAS -> OPTIONS -> LIBREOFFICE -> PATHS -> TEMPLATES the path for templates.
Then LibreOffice crashed.
I changed the path for templates back. LibreOffice crashed too.
I delete the configuration folder and started in front of.

I create the preset folder, put in my templates.
Then I can call my own templates under templates in the main window.

All this happens from version 7.0.4.2 up to 7.2.0.0

Thanks for reply
and a happy new year,
Helmut!

I've found, that I am not allowed to make any changes at the folder- and file-names.

I'm only allowed to add template-files.

Regards, Helmut!

OK, unclear as to steps to reproduce (STR).

You had deleted the default 'Templates' path(s)? I.e. $ORIGIN/../share/template/common, and $ORIGIN/../share/template/de-DE

Then a profile reset was needed to cleared the crashes.

That is correct in GUI, you add a path with the dialog.

Hello,

excuse me. I must complement my last comment.
I'm only allowed to add template-files with an external File manager.

Regards, Helmut!

Sorry, I am still confused. What path are you using to "add template-files", even with an "external File manager."?
Comment 13 helmut 2021-01-07 23:36:53 UTC
Hello,

I want to use an own created path in which the templates are saved.

Regards, Helmut !

Is any of your templates an old one with file extension stw, stc, sti or std?
Comment 16 helmut 2021-02-11 07:37:20 UTC
Dear Regina,

that's the solution.
I've deleted all the templates with the file ID "st*".
Since LibreOffice works.

Regards Helmut!

Good that it is a workaround for you. But LibreOffice should never crash. I have got the same problem and have reported bug 140308. We will track the problem there.
