Description: If OpenCL is enabled on LibreOffice, on my computer it causes a hang on startup. The loading splash screen appears and then halts there forever. I figured out how to disable OpenCL through safe mode, but it's been automatically turned back on twice since, causing the same problem to reappear by surprise. Updates to this software should respect the existing setting instead of re-enabling it. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Turn off OpenCL 2. Wait for automatic update 3. Note that OpenCL is re-enabled? Actual Results: OpenCL is re-enabled at every update? Expected Results: OpenCL setting should stay as it is set. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Lenovo Ideapad N580 Intel Pentium B960 Intel HD Graphics
You can try to update intel drivers, https://www.intel.la/content/www/xl/es/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html
By automatic update, do you mean saving of autorecovery information? Does this still happen with version 7.2? Did you try updating Intel drivers as proposed in comment 1?
I do not know what the "autorecovery information" terminology means. What I know is that every few weeks, the OpenCL option which I had purposely disabled somehow automatically re-enabled itself, causing the problem described. Each time I had to figure out once again how to start LibreOffice in safe mode and disable the OpenCL option. No, updating drivers did not have any effect on the OpenCL issue. However, the problem I was trying to report here was that the OpenCL setting was repeatedly re-enabled without consent.
There is no automatic update mechanism at this time. If you did not manually update LibreOffice, there was no update. Has the problem appeared anymore with recent versions?

I do not know the mechanism by which the setting was re-enabled, perhaps it has nothing to do with automatic updates. Regardless, it was re-enabled on repeated occasions without any user request/consent. Whatever caused this to happen seems to be a bug. However, the affected computer is no longer in service. I can't confirm whether the problem persists.
