Description ffs 2021-01-07 15:50:51 UTC
If you accidentally past something large into a search term LO freezes for a long time (minutes).

I'd suggest fixing this by putting a limit on the maximum length of a search tem (say 1024 characters).

I realise this is user error (pasting the long term) but it's a bit irritating

Sorry!

Version: 6.4.6.2
Build ID: 1:6.4.6-0ubuntu0.20.04.1
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: kf5;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

So it might be the native UI component it's built against I suppose (GTK?)

Do you reproduce it if you launch LibreOffice from commandline with "SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen" ?
