Description TorrAB 2021-01-17 23:27:57 UTC
Description:
In numAA.odt, paragraph has style List2, which has numbering style Numbering_abc, initially at level_1.
0. click AA, demote it step-by-step (toolbar BulletsAndNumbering) to level 2, 3, 4: no visible change.
1. In the style side bar, under ‘Lists’ (Confusing; it should be called ‘numbering styles’), the current style Numbering_abc is highlighted. Double-click another style, eg, Numbering_ABC, and change back to the original style Numbering_abc.
2. Repeat step_0: now, it (correctly) moves the string at each level change!
3. Close the file unsaved, reload the original, repeat step_0: at level 5, AA jumps ahead while its label ‘a:’ stays put. Bizarre.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.see above
2.
3.

Actual Results:
display does not respond to level

Expected Results:
display should respond according to style specs

Reproducible: Always

I confirm that.

No, because there are Numbering Lists and Bullet Lists, so List is correct

I confirm it

That's the expected position of AA at that level

Additional information
It also works, if you change numbering style of paragraph style to Numbering ABC and back to abc.
I also can't reproduce it with a new document

TorrAB: Have you created the file with master or ist it from previous version of LO?

Confusing; it should be called ‘numbering styles’)
> No, because there are Numbering Lists and Bullet Lists, so List is correct
**OK; but there are also paragraph styles called ‘list’: List_1, List_1_Cont, List_2, etc. What about calling Numbering Lists and Bullet Lists ‘enumerations’?

**based on what template? I made file numB from template Livre and reproduced the behaviour of numAA.odt: The position of BB does not respond to Level until you change the list style to Numbering ABC and back to abc.

Feel free to open a new report for that.

So the problem depends on your template. Could you please attach it?

> **What does ‘master’ mean?
Master ist the developer version of LO. You've chosen master as earliest affected version, but it seems, that you doesn't use it. Please paste infrmations from Help => About LibreOffice

Can you give new steps for this?
Comment 15 TorrAB 2022-01-27 14:55:33 UTC
The template you sent does not exhibit the problem.
Neither does a new version of the original template.
Problem solved. Thank you!
