Screenshot of the problem in Impress

When playing a video in Impress, the playback goes back to the placeholder image while sound is continuously played.
This only happens with Skia backend, not with GDI.

Steps to reproduce:
    1. Open attachment 169242 [details] (it contains an mpg video in a pptx file, but also happens if I convert this to odp)
    2. Open the Properties sidebar, select the video on the slide
    3. Start playing the video, then move the cursor above the slide and click on it OR out of the Impress window.

Actual results:
The video being played is replaced with the placeholder image.
Sound is continous.

Expected results:
Video played back normally.

Additional Information:
I can only reproduce this with SI-GUI release builds, but not in bibisect repos.

I cannot reproduce. What is this SI-GUI build? Is it some patched LO version? All those "Build ID" you listed are invalid, or at least not official LO versions (clicking on them in the About dialog should bring up a browser show the specific repository revision).
Comment 2 Telesto 2021-02-08 14:50:56 UTC
No issue
Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community

The video quality is quite bad in presentation mode.. But that might by recent skia version (reverted today)

This is: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/SI-GUI

It just allows to have all release versions installed paralell that were released since 3.5 plus nightlies.

The build IDs are valid. These are the 7.0.0 and 7.1.0 versions:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=53d68d29d90fd16448721a60aad68c28ff0809f5

https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=8061b3e9204bef6b321a21033174034a5e2ea88e

Since the first report my machine was upgraded to Windows 10, now even bibisect repo shows the symptom.
It's important though that you have to click on the slide background next to the playing video, so that highlight moves away to break the playback.

The problem still happens for me in current bibisect-7.2:
Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 2fb274950e5207ca55f4f52325fb522bd44024e1

and nightly from yesterday:

Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 9d8accf03984a64a4105826e55b221962628eb93

Repro 7.2+ GDI and Skia in Windows somehow.
I turned off/on Sidebar Properties. Video didn't disappear, but smaller video was playing above slide.
Already a problem in Lo 5.3 where media control appears in Properties.

In Skia I noticed video flickering when clicking on slide background.
So not sure about regression, or we have two issues here. Surely needs to be kept here. So far I remove Skia from the title.

In Linux there is no video, I guess anther bug.

Video works fine on Linux with gtk3. With kf5, one has to pause it once and then it starts working. With gen, it is just white blankness.

Revising this, I'd consider only this as a bug.

Not sure if this is the same issue...I was somewhat able to reproduce, but with slightly different steps:

1. Open attachment 169242 [details] (it contains an mpg video in a pptx file, but also happens if I convert this to odp)
2. Open the Properties sidebar, select the video on the slide
3. Start playing the video
4. Click outside of slide
5. Move the mouse continuously

Result: Placeholder image and video flickers back and forth between each other.
